"The website has introduced many new and novel concepts that made sense and gives us a fair idea of sir’s knowledge and dedication. The blogs were also a delight to read and one cannot help but read them over and over again."

" Through his website, and forum/blog, he has presented the entire technique of Pistol-Shooting in an extremely simplified, systematic, scientific manner, with detailed description and information of each fragmented component which when ‘defragmented’ or ‘assembled’ gives a lucid & an almost magical picture of the correct technique of shooting the ‘Perfect Shot’.”

Hi Shooters,In the last video, we discussed the relationship between four points,
  • Thinking
  • Your mood
  • Your energy level,
  • And your concentration level
  • All these four things are related to shooting rows of 10s. So it’s very important to understand, what you are thinking when you’re shooting? What you are feeling when you’re shooting? What your energy level is and what your concentration level is when you are shooting either a match or a practice sessionSo the secret to shooting rows of 10s, lies in your ‘Thinking’
curious case of missing 10s blog 400x400 1
I’ll give you an example, in your practice match just before your match, you shot very well. Your first series is 95 or whatever. So you shot six series which were very good so now you expect the same thing to happen in your match. So when you go in a match, you are expecting the same kind of score and this is very very natural but when you start off what is your mood like how are you feeling?

If you are positive, you will start well but if you are doubtful, immediately your mood level will go down, it will pull your energy level down and it will pull your concentration level down and you will start shooting badly.

And this will happen for the first series, second series, third series till you stop and say all right! I am not going to get the score in my last match so let me at least score a decent score.

When you start thinking in this manner, (and mind you every one of us has gone through this phase)the moment you start thinking like this suddenly all the pressure is gone! Your mood becomes relaxed.

All right! Now you say it doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter I’m relaxed I just want to complete my match. Then when you pick up the pistol, you start shooting, your ‘Thinking’ is normal it’s positive it’s relaxed. Your ‘Mood’ also improves, your ‘Energy’ level increases and your ‘Concentration’ level increases and you’ll find that your final two series or the remaining series performance is just like in your practice matches.I want you to stop and think of the number of series that you have shot in a match which have been excellent and what were you thinking during that series?

Nine times out of ten, you were very relaxed. In fact you were not thinking of anything, you were just concentrating on executing each shot to the best of your ability with no pressure. So when your ‘Thinking’ was positive, your ‘Mood’ level was positive your ‘Energy’ level rises and you are shooting the way you shoot your best series in a practice match.

This is the relationship between these four things your ‘Thinking’ , your ‘Mood’, your ‘Energy’ level and your ‘Concentration’ level. The key to shooting rows of 10s is not only what you’re thinking while executing your shot but more importantly What you are thinking between one shot and the other shot.

This gap between one shot and the other shot creates the basis, the platform for the result of your next shot and the outcome of your next shot to be good. So if you want to shoot another 10. and rows of tens you have to concentrate and learn how to think positively between one shot and the second shot before your next shot.

We will go in greater detail in the next video.

    Till then, happy shooting.
